The following terms and policies apply to all Contemporary Flavors Catering events:
Ordering Policy
Although 24-hour advance notice is requested on all orders, Contemporary Flavors Catering will also accommodate last-minute orders when possible. However, the full range of menu choices cannot be guaranteed on rush orders and no changes or cancellations will be accepted on the day of the scheduled event.
EVENT TERMS:
Deposits & Payments
A $500 or 50% deposit is required to confirm your function. If 50% was not applied for the deposit, then it is to be applied two months prior to the event. The balance is due three business days prior to the function. Any miscellaneous adjustment charges are payable within ten days, provided credit has been established with Contemporary Flavors, Inc. Any space held without a deposit received will be considered on a tentative basis and may be cancelled at any time.
Contemporary Flavors, Inc. will accept payment by cash, check, American Express, Visa, or MasterCard. When paying by check, please make it payable to Contemporary Flavors, Inc.
Cancellation Policy
Events cancelled for any reason before 90 days prior to the event date, require 50% of the deposit to be retained. For cancellations taking place 60– 89 days prior to the event, 75% of the deposit will be retained. 100% of the deposit will be retained for cancellations made 59 days or less prior to the event. Cancellations made less than five business days prior to the event may require a fee equal to half of the entire event cost.
Guest Count
The final guest count guarantee will be due seven business days prior to the event date on orders of 150 pax and under. Any event order for 151 pax and over will require a final guarantee guest count 10 business days prior to the event. Once given, the guaranteed count may not be decreased. However, the count may be increased up to 48 hours prior to the event date (some menu additions may be subject to availability or a 10% surcharge to cover retail purchasing).
Catering Quotes
Written proposal pricing is only valid for 30 days unless a catering contract has been signed within this time period. An event is not considered booked until a signed catering contract has been obtained.
Standard Pick-up
Orders are picked up at Mark’s Place & Contemporary Flavors Catering. Cold selections will be displayed on disposable party platters and ready to serve upon pick-up. Hot selections are placed in foil pans and are ready to serve or may be oven ready upon request. Service equipment is available for an additional fee.
Delivery & Drop-off
Orders are delivered at the location of choice. Delivery charges are based on zip code locations and start at $20. Delivery charges for food orders of $500 or more will be waived for the following zip codes: 96765, 96715, 96756, and 96766.

Service equipment available for an additional fee of 10% of the total food cost.
Delivery & Tear-down
Orders are delivered to the location of choice and set-up by Contemporary Flavors Catering staff. Delivery (to and from event location) and tear-down charges will be twice the delivery charges plus $15 dollars.
Full Service
When selecting personal service, Contemporary Flavors Catering staff will deliver, set up, maintain, and tear-down your event. Charges will be determined by consultation with one of our catering specialists.
Special Event Set-up Charge
A 15% special event set-up charge may be applied to food and beverage fees for off-premise catering. These fees cover the costs associated with the use of chafers, sternos, serving bowls, utensils, delivery equipment, and food carriers. Additional charges may apply if specialty service ware is required.
Full Service Catering Staffing
Staff time is billed by the hour, portal-to-portal, based on a three-hour minimum per staff person. Upon selection of the venue, menu, approximate number of guests, and approximate hours of the function, we will be happy to estimate a labor cost. Final labor cost is based on actual portal-to-portal. Labor is subject to 4.166% state tax.
Staffing labor charges are as follows:
Event Captains $35 per hour
Wait staff $25 per hour
Bus staff $25 per hour
Bartender $35 per hour
Kitchen staff $25 per hour
Labor Guidelines
Event success is greatly dependent upon service staff. Minimum staffing recommendations are as follows:
Buffet style - disposable 1 server for every 36 guests.
1 kitchen staff for every 50 guests.
Buffet style - china 1 server for every 24 guests.
1 bus staff for every 50 guests.
1 kitchen staff for every 50 guests.
Plated china 1 server for every 16 guests.
1 busser for every 36 guests.
4 kitchen staff for every 80 guests.
Cake Cutting
The cake cutting service fee, $1.50 per person, applies to cakes that are not provided by Contemporary Flavors, Inc.
Staff Attire
For formal events, Contemporary Flavors Catering wait staff attire consists of a white shirt, black pants or skirt, and black shoes, as well as possibly Chef jackets. Casual attire includes a Contemporary Flavors Catering golf shirt and solid colored pants, skirt, or shorts.
Service Charge & Taxes
All food and beverage prices are subject to a 15% service charge and 4.166% state tax.
